Synopsis

Ask the owner of the Do-You-Have Bookstore out on the edge of town, “Do you have a book about such-and-such?” and he will almost invariably reply, “Yes!” before ducking into the shelves to fetch it. Every day, book lovers come into this fictional store looking for all sorts of different books for all sorts of different reasons.

Readers will encounter an array of fanciful books and devices they may well find themselves wishing were real: “Moonlight books” printed with a special ink that’s only visible in moonlight. “Duo books” that require two readers to dock their books together in order to read them. A “reader support robot” that plugs your ears when it’s noisy, urges you on if you start to lose steam, scolds you if you read in the dark, nudges you awake if you nod off, and otherwise works to make your reading experience more pleasurable.

Other sections feature special places and events relating to books; unusual aspects of the manufacture, design, and handling of books; different kinds of libraries and bookstores; and much much more, each part offering highly whimsical takes on books and their place in our lives. The fertile imagination of author Shinsuke Yoshitake will make even the most ardent book lover fall in love with books all over again.
