Cara the Flowery Towel has been touring as a pop idol. But one day a gang of dustballs who love nothing better than to make things dirty crash her performance and throw mud bombs at her. Even after scrubbing in the bath, the dirt doesn’t all come out, and Cara’s popularity suddenly takes a dive. With her future now in doubt, she’s wondering what she can do. Then her father the floor rag, who wrestles under the name of Old Ragster, asks her to team up with him as the Rag Tag Wrestlers.

They prepare to do battle in the ring with the Dustball Gang. But when the time comes for their first actual match, Washrag Cara shrinks from getting into the ring. Old Ragster decides to go it alone, and wins decisively using his “Jumping Thunder Flash” technique. But the toll of fighting alone day after day wears him down, and one day he seems helpless as members of the Dustball Gang come at him from all sides. Soon he is dripping with mud. Then the crowd begins to chant “Ca-a-ara! Ca-a-ara!” Encouraged by this show of support from the fans even though she’s not a pop idol anymore, Washrag Cara climbs into the ring. She lets loose her “Dancing Flower Attack” and defeats the entire Dustball Gang in her first ring victory, and after that the formidable Rag Tag team goes on to clean up dirty dustballs day after day.

The high points of the story are when the Rag Tags use their special techniques to blow the Dustball Gang away. Boys and girls alike will be excited and energized by the Rag Tags’ exploits.
