Yutaka Sado

Yutaka Sado 佐渡裕

Yutaka Sado (1961–) was born in Kyoto Prefecture. He graduated from the Faculty of Music at Kyoto University of the Arts, and subsequently studied under the late Leonard Bernstein and Seiji Ozawa. He has served as visiting conductor with many major orchestras in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2015 he became musical director of the Tonkünstler Orchestra in Austria while also serving as artistic director of the Hyōgo Performing Arts Center and principal conductor of the Siena Wind Orchestra in Japan. He frequently conducts concerts for children, and is active in efforts to make classical music more accessible to all.
