Atsuto Suzuki

Atsuto Suzuki 鈴木厚人

Atsuto Suzuki (1946–), DSc, was born in Niigata Prefecture. He earned his bachelor’s degree in the Department of Physics at Niigata University, and completed his doctorate in the Graduate School of Science at Tōhoku University. His fields of specialization are particle physics and neutrino physics. A professor for many years in the Faculty of Science at Tohoku University, he became president of Iwate Prefectural University in 2015. From 2006 until 2015 he was director general of the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). He has won numerous physics awards, including the Bruno Rossi Prize.
