Yuki Ibuki 伊吹有喜

Yuki Ibuki (1969–)  was born in Mie Prefecture and attended the Chuo University Faculty of Law. She joined a publishing house after graduation and worked as a magazine editor before turning independent as a freelance writer. In 2008 she received the Poplar Publishing Prize for Fiction, Special Award, for Kaze-machi no hito (Waiting for Fair Winds). Her second novel, Shijukunichi no reshipi (Mourning Recipe), became a bestseller and was turned into both a miniseries for television and a feature film. Her next work, Nadeshiko monogatari (Where Pinks Bloom), was also much talked about, and her most recent novel, Middonaito basu (Midnight Bus), has been nominated for both the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize and the Naoki Prize.
