Tadashi Akiyama あきやまただし

Tadashi Akiyama (1964–)  was born in Tokyo and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in design. He works as a picture-book author and illustrator. He received the Kodansha Award for New Picture Book Writers in 1993 for Fushigi na kānibaru (The Mysterious Carnival), and the Japan Picture Book Award Grand Prize in 1995 for Hayaku nete yo (Hurry Up and Go to Sleep). His many other works include Umi kirin (Sea Giraffe), Hyoi hyoi hyoi (Jump Jump Jump), Ton ton ton (Knock Knock), Yada yada kamen (The Mask of No!), and the Mameushi (Mini Cow) and Tamago niichan (Brother Eggy) series.
